Frankly, My Dear, I do.

Kristi contacted me early in 2016. Her and her fiancé, Rhett live outside of Atlanta, GA and were planning on a small wedding ceremony near Big Sur. They have never been to Carmel or Big Sur, so I gave them all the information I had. With their hearts set on Big Sur, we came up with a plan. We emailed back and forth for months. Then, some camper decided to light a campfire illegally in Big Sur, derailing all plans. OH NO!!! Luckily, I know the area pretty well and told Kristi & Rhett that Carmel and Point Lobos should be just as pretty. And it definitely was.

I have never met these two and here I am on my way to document the most important day of their lives. I walk into their cute cabin in Carmel and in seconds, we all felt like we have known each other for years. Their friends, Kate & Kurt are with us too. Just the 5 of us. We ventured into the state reserve, walked around Whalers Cove, took in the scenes on the beach and headed to the ceremony site. The ceremony site I picked is a favorite spot of mine-it is tucked away, off the beaten path. No tourists. No one around except us and a few seals. It was perfection. After the vows, some cake was shared and a lot of laughter was heard.

I remember that feeling of calm as the ocean waves crashed on the jagged rocks and the golden sun shined on my face. I was thinking how intimate this time was. How these two strangers trusted me in all this. This day was unforgettable and with my 2016 wedding season coming to a close, I cannot wait to do it all over again in 2017.

xoxo
